Movies like Time Changer

A prophetic wager about intergenerational responsibility. Set as a period predicament, the piece fixes on an 1890 Bible professor, Russell Carlisle, who composes a manuscript called 'The Changing Times' and, at his colleague Dr. Norris Anderson's instigation, is dispatched more than a century ahead by a secret time machine to see the downstream effects of his claim. The conceit stages an ethical problem rather than a conventional mystery: who may adjudicate the future consequences of an intellectual claim made in a different moral ecology? That refusal to settle the question is itself the point.
