Michael Jennings occupies that wager as a procedural problem rather than an existential parable; his work, the systematic erasure of short-term memory, reframes accountability as a transactional architecture and turns the question of who a person is into a forensic exercise. The film stages its answer through procedural choreography and puzzle-driven dramaturgy rather than declarative moralizing. Tight-framing and a measured tempo compress perception into clue-laden sequences, and a muted visual register emphasizes surfaces where memory once lived; the viewer follows a single-protagonist vantage that must reconstruct motives from deferred evidence. Corporate-conspiracy functions as the opposing logic: contracts, envelopes and withheld payment operate as narrative mechanisms that externalize ethical-tension and drive an identity-crisis without resolving it. What survives the credits is a remainder rather than a resolution: the film asks whether a self reconstructed from found information retains moral standing, and whether institutional claims over memory alter the constitution of a person. It refuses tidy reconciliation. The question lingers.
